Literacy
We offer various workshops that meet the needs of our clientele. Workshops are broken into modules to suit learners of all levels. Whether you are at a beginner or intermediate level, COMQUAT can help you improve your French skills. Most of our services are offered free of charge. All you pay is a $30 registration fee.
Our literacy program is made up of different workshops:
Writing
Two writing workshop levels; the first provides a revision of basic French concepts and the second gives participants a deeper understanding of the language and allows them to practice acquired skills. All this with the active participation of learners.
Corporate Training
Workshops that teach the most up-to-date rules of typography, as well as the standards related to different types of professional communications, and how to better present documents. Workshops that empower participants with the best and most appropriate vocabulary.
Conversation
During our conversation workshops, each participant is invited to discuss a specific subject in French. Exchanges between students are supervised by a facilitator who assists with interactions.
Tutoring
These individual sessions are made possible by the involvement of our valued volunteers, who offer learners one-on-one meetings.
French as a second language
Beginner and intermediate course through a period of 8 weeks to learn French. Fees totalling $100 are applicable (includes registration fees and course manual)
Our Approach
- Each person is met individually and must take a placement test;
- Possibility to register for one or more workshops, depending on availability and individual needs;
- Small groups (between 5 and 12 people, depending on the workshop);
- Respect for each individual’s learning pace;
- Possibility to register at any time.
