TENS or GDT, demystifying the services

COMQUAT offers the necessary support, information and training, both individually and in groups, for anyone wishing to obtain Secondary V equivalency.

For the Secondary V Equivalency Test (TENS)

TENS allows individuals 16 years of age and over to obtain their Attestation of Equivalence of Secondary Studies (AESS). This facilitates access to certain jobs, programs leading to a Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS), as well as to programs leading to an Attestation of Collegial Studies (AEC).

To obtain an AESS, you must successfully complete:

  • The two French tests;

And three out of five suggested tests in:

  • Mathematics;
  • English, Second Language;
  • Social Studies;
  • Economics;
  • Natural Sciences.

al Development Test (GDT)

The GDT is one way for individuals 18 years of age and over to gain admission to a program leading to a Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS). Prerequisites specific to the chosen program are required for admission to DVS. These are related to general knowledge in the following subjects:

  • Mechanical Reasoning (logic);
  • Science;
  • Mathematics;
  • French: spelling and grammar.
