Highlights
Cet été mon français je le pratique was the subject of a pilot project during the summer of 2022 financially supported by the Regional Instance for Consultation in Academic Perseverance and Educational Success of Montérégie (IRCM), the city of Vaudreuil -Dorion and the Saint-Jean-Baptiste Society of Vaudreuil. The community of Vaudreuil-Dorion rewarded this Comquat initiative by awarding it the People’s Choice award at the 2022 Community Forum of the city of Vaudreuil-Dorion.
This great success prompted Comquat to renew the experience in 2023, 2024 and 2025 by seeking, among other things, financial support from the Government of Quebec.
Offered to young people aged 16 to 24, of immigrant origin, allophones and anglophones from the Vaudreuil-Dorion and Île-Perrot regions, this project offers activities taking place from July 4 to August 10 and aims to :
- Offer participants fun activities to practice oral expression in different contexts
- Continue to practice language skills in French
- Improving fluency in French both orally and in writing
- Introduce young immigrants to regional attractions
- Create an intercultural network facilitating the integration of participants into their community
This summer, we are rolling out the program at two points of service in order to reach more young people in our region; at 25 boul. Don Quichotte in Île-Perrot and at 1255, rue Émile-Bouchard in Vaudreuil-Dorion.
